> External Social Action: R + D + I
The Foundation’s actions in R+D+I are focussed on the support of research into new technologies and innovative systems. The Foundation has created Awards oriented towards Sustainable Urban Development, in the areas related to Environmental technologies, Recycling, Alternative Energies, Materials, Construction Systems, Housing and Urban Spaces Design, etc.
Furthermore, the Foundation is facilitating the implementation of a pilot project, related to these Awards and in partnership with other institutions in the study of new methods and innovative systems for sustainable development.
> The objectives in this area are the following:
- To discover new methods and technologies which reduce environmental impact and facilitate sustainable development
- To encourage the development and modernisation of social and economic structures
- To improve the competitiveness of the Spanish economy
